Prayer life and liturgy

Prayer life

Prayer Life is integral to the life of all our communities in Brisbane Catholic Education and has the potential to nourish our spiritual growth. It provides the context and the resources for us to celebrate our lives and identities as members of our Catholic school and office communities. It nurtures our relationship in faith with God and with one another.

Prayer life and liturgy create a sense of purpose and identity reflecting the uniqueness our communities whilst formulating an understanding of our shared humanity. It links us with the Church throughout the world and call us to share the good news.

We can enrich our connection by ongoing reflection of our prayer experiences enhancing the contemporary Catholic cultural context.

There is a shared language and common understanding around Catholic identity and culture in our schools and prayer nurtures authentic expressions of this Catholic identity.

A creative expression of recontextualising Catholic Identity can be reflected in prayer as it acknowledges the contemporary context of the Church in our world.

Don't forget to access the resources in the related links on this page.

There are several contexts for prayer within our organisation.

Religious life of the family

Prayer is a way for families, communities and individuals to come together, show solidarity and be there for each other. We lift our hearts and minds to God. Everyone can pray and one only has to have the will to pray. Prayer can offer routine and comfort and a sense of peace in uncertain times. There are many ways we can pray alone and also with our families and communities. If you have access to electronic devices and internet, these opportunities could also be shared remotely with extended family and friends.
